Jesus declares that he himself is 'The Way, The Truth and The Life'. He calls us to believe in him and to do everything in a way that glorifies him. Changing the heart of Africa is therefore the indispensable key to changing the face of Africa.
God loves us and sees our inward problem of sin as infinitely more serious than the outward consquence of sin around us. As a result, he sent his Son Jesus to take the punishment for our sin by dying in our place on the cross, offering salvation and eternal life to all those who believe in him. The Bible calls this 'repentance' as we actively turn away from old beliefs, traditions and practices in favour of receiving Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord.
Having believed in Jesus, we belong to his body, the church. Baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the outward sign of our faith in Christ and identification with his people. God has commissioned the church to preach the gospel with words and deeds, extending his Kingdom in the power of his Spirit. God's design is that the church should live life in a way that shows their faith by their actions, turning multitudes to Christ. This lifestyle is counter-culture and characterized by the love, obedience, humility and unselfishness that flows from genuine faith in Jesus Christ.
Because of God's perfect love, holiness, sovereignty, omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence, we seek to trust him with all our hearts. We choose no longer to lean on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways, so that he "makes our path straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
